How to Root Samsung Galaxy S3 (4.4.2)

In this session, we will explain the process having a Samsung Galaxy S3 4.4.2 rooted step-by-step easily. This m was released two years back and received the latest firmware recently.


Keep a Windows-based computer or Laptop ready.
Verify if you are running Android 4.4.2, KitKat (build L710VPUDND).
Backup of the data as you will lose all data during the process.
Ensure the battery is charged at least 80%.

Here are the steps to root Galaxy S3 4.4.2:

Install USB drivers on your computer and enable USB debugging on your device. You can do it by going simply going to Apps> Settings > Developer and check the USB is debugging.

Download Odin3-v1.85 flash tool and CF Auto-Root from the above links and unzip them.

Switch off your device completely.

Boot into Download mode. You can do it by pressing and holding simultaneously three buttons- Volume Down, Home and Power.

In Download Mode, connect to your computer via USB and launch the Odin.exe file.

Keep looking on the ID : COM box that turns yellow on detection of your device. Click on the PDA button and select CF-Auto-Root file. Just click Auto Reboot and F.Reset; not any other button/options.

Tap Start button for starting the installation process. It may take few minutes to complete.

You can see a message- PASS in the Odin box on completion successful installation. Your android now should boot automatically.

To ensure that you had been able to do the rooting successfully, check it by installing Root Checker from the Google Play-store.
