How To Jailbreak IOS 8.1.1

So IOS 8.1.1 turns out to be all about security. Unfortunately, it also patches (as usual) the jailbroken status of IOS 8.1. So if you haven’t updated yet, then keep that in mind.

Let’s quickly go through the contents of 8.1.1.

Apple added CFNetwork, which fixes issues where browsing, even in private mode, caused the cookies not to be cleared. This should take care of that now.

Dyld, this is rather technical so I won’t go in detail, but this was the real reason of this update, as it fixes the “vulnerabilities” of IOS 8.

The best thing added is the Lock Screen feature, which completely locks the device if an incorrect password has been entered for too many tries. This is a great step forward if you ask me!

Sandbox Profiles is basically making sure that malicious apps can’t get access to your details and/or take full control of your device.

Spotlight was added, which reduces the amount of connections required to connect with Safari.

So that sums it up, but the main question is, can you already get your tweaks back? The answer to that is, yes!

If you want to jailbreak 8.1.1, then you can, as a new team called TaiG came up with a solution already! So simply follow the below step by step instructions and you’ll be in no-time!

Getting Started With The IOS 8.1.1 Jailbreak:

As always, a couple of standard prerequisites have to be done. You’ll need to turn off “Find My iPhone”, then turn on “Airplane Mode” after disabling the “Passcode Lock”. Then connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.

Now that that’s done, you can download the latest version of TaiG, and then run it as Administrator.

Wait for it to recognize the device. This should take around 30 seconds.

As soon as that happens, a pop up will be shown on your screen.

Now you need to uncheck the second box (the one which doesn’t include Cydia), and then click on the green “Start” button.

Now a bunch of processes take place, so this will take a couple of minutes. Just let it run and wait for the smiley face to show up.

Once you see that, then the jailbreaking has been completed.

Confirm that everything was done correctly by looking for the Cydia icon. If you see that, then you successfully applied the 8.1.1 jailbreak.

Now you can enjoy all tweaks and customizations! If you want to see a video that shows you all of the above then make sure to take a look below:

Note: Sometimes it happens that an error shows up, causing the program to stop or to be interrupted. To see a couple of solutions, watch the video below:
